Monastrell Spain will be present next Monday 24th June at the ‘Best UK Sommelier – Villa Sandi Award, Graduation Ceremony and Walkaround Tasting 2024’.
This event will take place in London, at the prestigious HABERDASHERS’ HALL. More than 1,500 industry professionals, educators, sommeliers, importers, buyers and media are expected to attend. Attendees will be able to witness the competition to select the best sommelier in the UK.

The morning competition will start at 10:00am with the best sommelier taking part in the initial written test and the blind wine tasting, the top scorer will be awarded the title of Britain’s Best Sommelier.
A jury of journalists, sommeliers, wine buyers, past winners, Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, members of the Italian Sommeliers’ Association and the British Sommeliers’ Association will decide on the winner, who will be announced on stage.
MONASTRELL MASTERCLASS
A Monastrell Masterclass will be held during the event under the slogan “A Taste of Sunshine” for attendees who are eager to delve deeper into the wines of Monastrell and the characteristics of the region during the masterclasses.

WALKAROUND TASTING
The Walkaround Tasting will take place throughout the day and will feature 11 Monastrell wines. This event will last all day and into the evening. During this unique event, different Monastrell wines will be placed on tables for guests to taste.

The aim of the Monastrell Spain Association’s participation will be to increase awareness of the Monastrell variety among a large number of professionals, sommeliers, importers, wine buyers and on-trade professionals.
